How do I get started?

Getting started is simple:

2. Add your pet's profile
3. Invite your co-parent via email
4. Start using the shared calendar and expense tracker

Do both co-parents need an account?

Yes, both co-parents need their own account to access shared features. Both accounts are free, and if you finalize a pet agreement, one payment covers both of you.

How does the custody calendar work?

Set up a recurring weekly schedule (e.g., you have Mon-Wed, co-parent has Thu-Sun) and the calendar automatically shows who has the pet each day. You can also add one-time overrides for holidays, vacations, or schedule swaps.

Can I sync with Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?

The shared custody calendar inside the app is free for both co-parents. Subscribing to it from Google Calendar or Apple Calendar is coming as part of Pet Co-parenting Plus.

What happens if we need to swap days?

You can add one-time overrides to swap custody days. Both co-parents see the updated schedule immediately, and optional notifications keep everyone informed.

How do I track shared expenses?

Tracking expenses is easy:

1. Add an expense with title, amount, and category
2. Choose how to split it (50/50, 60/40, or custom)
3. Optionally attach a receipt photo
4. The app automatically calculates who owes what

What expense categories are available?

We include common pet expense categories: Vet bills, Food, Grooming, Boarding, Medications, Toys, Training, Insurance, and Miscellaneous.

What is a pet agreement / pet prenup?

A pet agreement is a document that outlines your co-parenting arrangement—custody schedule, financial responsibilities, emergency decisions, care routines, and more. It creates a clear understanding between co-parents.

Is the agreement legally binding?

Our agreements are designed to create a clear understanding between co-parents. While they demonstrate intent and can be referenced in disputes, they are not a substitute for legal advice. For legally binding documents, consult with an attorney.

Can I use Pet Co-parenting for free?

Yes. The app is free, with no limits: unlimited pet profiles, custody scheduling, expense tracking, and agreement drafting. The only thing that costs money is finalizing a pet agreement — a one-time $29 that covers both co-parents.

Is there anything to cancel?

No. The app is free and agreements are a one-time payment, so there's no subscription to cancel. If you joined on one of our earlier subscription plans, you can cancel anytime from your account settings.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment processor, Stripe.
